Title: Sportsman crash bars
Post by: kartjockey on May 25, 2015, 11:48:41 AM
This is a close-up Of Jim L. Sportsman crash bars where they attach at the frame.  Take a look at the goober welding of the little spacer tube.  That is believed to be original stuff as all Sportsmans with crash bars will more than likely look like this. So, in other words,  it is not an add on by a previous owner.  The tube makes the crash bars fit right.  Pay attention to bars on the automatics compared to the Sportman.

I wonder why they didn't just make the crash bars a little bit longer?  I guess by this time in the company's life, they were just hanging on and didn't want to invest in a new jig?

I can't believe the factory would let that kind of weld leave the plant .

I've heard that there isn't much pride in a sinking ship , but that looks to be shade tree stuff .

Pete . :)
