I have a 48 with a HF predator engine.
Of course the bummer is no lighting coil.
I might have found a good solution.
On my other mini bike with a predator engine I installed a Harbor Freight off road light ($10). It has a H3 bulb. I replace the halogen bulb with a LED H3 7watt replacement ($7.00). I made a temporary wire harness and connected to my 18 volt (1.5amp hour) drill battery. A freshly recharged battery went an hour and half before the light started to dim. It was fairly bright.
I just need to replace the sealed beam bulb on my Simplex with reflector and lens setup.

I have a 9 volt LED powered headlight that's wired in to my LED tail/brake light, but been looking at going 12Volt using a CCT rechargeable. They are the size of a deck of cards and only $15+/-

Replaced the sealed beam head light with the reflector and lens of HF off-road light. It was a good fit.
Wired-up a push pull switch from auto parts store. Hooked up to battery from drill driver. Works great.
Now i am looking for a battery box or bag and the best place to locate battery.

Looks plenty bright enough!
