Post by: relic on June 23, 2014, 05:28:30 PM
Question? The drive hoop on my 57 is cracking on the edge by where the Edges meet where it snaps over the rim has anyone else had this problem? I bead blasted my freshly paint part to tig weld it-ugh! I have the other style looks like a better design oh well...your comments.... Oh and the wire that slides in the one side that was gone after the first couple of rides

I have only used one of the late style, and did not see any cracking.  I like the early style, but they take much longer to install.  Wayne does have reproduction early style available, if anyone needs one.

Yeah I have a early style too, I am going to switch over to it! I just can't believe there is that much stress on that area of the drive hoop but there must be!! I just restored this bike and have probably put 100 miles on it! No trailer queens in my shop!! So I guess it's just part of it!!
