« on: August 22, 2012, 07:02:55 PM »
Here is a copy of the announcement for the Model 70 Truck.  I understand they made only one of these.

Pretty neat!  According to Gary Wollard's book, 2 of these were built. I don't know where he got his info from, maybe one of the Treens? I wonder if any are still in existence?

Simplex sent out mailers to prospective buyers in 1957 that included color cards for the Automatic and the new Scooter and Sportsman models.

Here is the 1957 Simplex price list and spec sheets.  Note that the "Standard" model is now discontinued.  Also, a speedometer is now available for the first time since WWII.

Looks like the Servi-cycle photo was taken from the advertising files......notice that it has a Wico Magneto.....by '57 they were completely into Phelon magnetos as far as I've know.

It sure shows me that I've got some work to do to get my magneto cover shined up!!!

I understood that 1957 was the changeover year to the Phelon magneto.  Also, note that the scooter had the anniversary decals on the gas tank.  Every scooter I've ever seen had them.
