Other Things Simplex / Title
« on: May 25, 2019, 07:34:57 AM »
I finally got a title for my '53. It took a lot of going back and forth from the DMV to the CHP. I had it on the market but took it off because so many many people were asking if it had a title, despite the listing saying it had never been registered. I also kept getting a guy asking how fast it would go, not sure what he was looking for. It is good feeling to get that done.

Sounds like you simply need to build a bigger garage . ;)

It also seems like a very nice bike .

Pete . :)

I wish I did have a bigger garage. I'd never leave it.

I am thinking about selling my '53. I have too many projects now and need the space in my small garage. The frame and tins are powder coated, new engine from Wayne, new tires, seat from Heather's Leathers. Not sure what the value is. Located in SF Bay Area.

I sent mine to him eight weeks ago.

I wasn't that specific, he told me that he did a nice russet sunburst for his Indian and I told him to go with it. Did you powder coat your pan?

8
I haven't got the seat back yet so I can't tell you but I had the pan powder coated (black) before I sent it to them.

I just got pictures of my seat from Heather's Leathers. They really do nice work

What parts are you getting chromed? I had my exhaust "manifold" powder coated chrome, while it isn't the same as real chrome I like the way it looks. I may use it for some other parts too.

I am trying to find a magneto cover for my '53. Are there any of these still in existence?

Wheels & Tires / Re: Inner tubes

I have installed bicycle and motorcycle tires but have never seen this big of gap between the tube and rim, but I will say that I never looked at a tube on a rim. I would usually stuff them in the tire and go with it.

I have installed it on the rim, with strip, aired it up. No tire. It looks like it would fit a rim 2 inches bigger. I can put my fist in the gap between the tube and the rim. I used enough air to bring it to shape, not overfilled.
