« on: June 24, 2014, 12:55:15 PM »
Well it seems I have lost interest. I am selling this one. Its a 56 with a Honda GC190 engine.

Here is a link to my thread with more photos and listing of everything done to it. http://www.simplexservi-cycle.com/index.php?topic=669.0
I do have the front fender, aftermarket tail light, and some decals for it. I have a lighting coil installed so the lights work.  All of the nuts and bolts will need locktite before you go tearing up the road.

Contact me via PM on here. Ill get you my number. Thanks.

Wheels & Tires / Front brake photos?
« on: October 11, 2013, 08:19:13 AM »
I am trying to figure out how the stock front brake is attached. Where does the arm on the hub mount to keep it from spinning? All of the photos I can find are real small with little detail.

Can somebody post a closeup?

Thanks

I have a set and was wondering how well they stick. Do they have to be cleared over?

Other Things Simplex / Photo Request: Kick start lever
« on: August 02, 2013, 12:41:03 PM »
Do any of you have or could you take a couple photos of the kick start lever? I assume that the teeth on the lever fall backward after engaging the flywheel.

I would like a few photos of the side profile with the teeth in both positions.

I have some items from an old lawn tractor steering unit that I want to use to build a starter lever.

Thanks a bunch.

« on: July 31, 2013, 01:03:33 PM »
Do any of you have a photo of what Wayne's throttle grips and mechanism look like?

I just want to see what I am getting before I send the funds.

Thanks,

Buy, Sell, Trade / Drive sheave needed
« on: June 29, 2013, 07:59:44 AM »
Do any of you have a stock drive sheave you would like to part with?

The Whizzer sheave I had planned on using will not work. The belt hits the tire when used with the stock 2" wide rim.

Frame, Tank, Seat, Controls, Etc / Fuel tank passage location?

I shined a light into my fuel tank on my 56. I could not see any light on the other side. Where is the fuel passage located?

Ok here is my official build thread. I have 80% of the parts now so I figured it was time. I plan to mock everything up, build it, and make it ride-able before I get into paint.

Here are a few pics as of tonight. I have a roller (kinda) with an engine in it. More details to follow.  ;D

Pics are big. You should all have a wide monitor by now.  ;)

Engine & Transmission / Belt tensioner needed?
« on: April 22, 2013, 08:29:26 AM »
It looks like the previous owner mocked my bike up without a tensioner. The belt would be tightened without he rear wheel.

Am I going to want to use a larger belt and add a tensioner?

I am running a Comet CVT to a whizzer sheave.

« on: April 20, 2013, 12:42:05 PM »
Ok so after a very long 45 minutes I have given up on mounting my Coker Simplex tires.

Please share your mounting techniques.

These tires are stiff as all get out.  :o

Thanks in advance.

Show us your seats. Have you re-covered one?

I want to sew up a leather cover for my seat pan. I am not sure what color I want to go with.

For anyone who may be looking for a cost effective replacement for your dual fuel caps, I found the Stant 10623. It is from a 60's Chevy truck. It has a light chrome finish. It does not have the knerling on the edge. They are only like 6 bucks. They are a perfect fit.

Wheels & Tires / Rear sealed bearing conversion
« on: February 14, 2013, 10:47:36 AM »
As you already know, the old stock bearings are probably pitted and worn. I have replaced them with a set of sealed NSK R8Z bearings. I also have a new 1/2" axle.
The bearings measure 1 1/8"x 3/8" with a 1/2 hole. I used a roughly a 1 1/4" diameter shim that was 1/16th" thick. There is also a spacer between the bearings. These numbers are approx. and may differ a couple thousandths.

I am in the process of doing this for my front Worksman brake drum as well.

I think I have like 20-25 bucks into the rear.

Wheels & Tires / Coker 26x2.5 tires. Who has em?
« on: January 29, 2013, 07:01:24 PM »
I see that Coker does not give these tires a speed rating. Are the sidewalls truely stronger than a regular bike tire?

Forum Tip and Tricks / How to inbed a youtube video
« on: January 24, 2013, 09:48:05 AM »
You have to use the code that is in the youtube link like the red part. http://youtu.be/ RQZMug9YwjI

Then, you click on the Youtube button right above here next to the other options.

Then insert the red font part into the youtube area just like you are posting a photo.

This will work on most forums.
