Thought I would post some pictures of my simplex scooter. Options include 150cc engine, Front brake, and luggage rack.

Nice scooter!  What did it look like when you started the restoration?

I've had this bike for many years up in the loft. I got it from my good friend, Warren Naufzinger. It had a briggs engine on it. I eventually got the drive train components to put it back like it should be. It is believed that only 1000 were built, but I have seen a lot of them myself. They do ride nice and they seem to accelerate quicker. The clutch has 1" rollers instead of 7/8" and the Idler pulley has a different location for the tension spring. other than that, it's the same as the cycle. I suppose the larger rollers are to move the gear ratio up a little quicker.

I'm not really sure, but if were to guess I have to say heavier than the cycle. It has a larger diameter frame, and the wheels are most likely heavier. I'll have to weigh it sometime, but I would say maybe 10 to 15 lbs heavier than a cycle. Good question.

That seems right.  A Servi-cycle weighs 135 lbs.  And as Simplexguy said, about 10-15 lbs heavier than a cycle.

Just seems like the scooter should weigh a lot more than 10 - 15 pounds heavier .

I don't know , but it definitely 'looks' heavier . ;)
