Stop light switch
« on: August 04, 2019, 02:12:55 PM »
So while building my '58 scooter I learned about the stop light switch.  I was excited to find an exact match from Ebay.  Cole-Hersee #9109 . While this switch is a visual match it works backwards. On this one the plunger remains in until the brake pedal is pressed pulling the plunger out making the stop light come on.  While this switch will work fine it is incorrect.   The Cole-Hersee #9071 functions in the correct direction by actually switching the stop light on when the plunger returns back in.

So the #9109 will point to the front and #9071 will point to the rear (see photo)

Found this in an old Cole-Hersee catalog that I have. Just further shows the difference between the two.  the 9109 is currently available on Ebay but it is the 9071 that is correct

What years Servi-Cycles were having brake light switches?
