Hi, am new here, name is Alex Schmidt, and have 2 Simplexes, both incomplete, so could do with a Wico flywheel, or complete ignition, I can't really see what the Ebay engine has ??

So does anyone recognize the flywheel? I lean towards a Phelon.

Thanks,

Alex

I don't have the book in front of me at the moment, but the ebay motor has another brand of flywheel that Simplex originally started with.  It was replaced by the Wico (the book says the original wasn't very reliable, but I dont' know what the problems were).

I believe that motor to be an 1940 with a Eisemann magneto, but that is just an educated guess.  Simplex did use a small diameter wico for a short while also, from what I understand.

Yea I found out they have a smaller flywheel the hard way. I pick one up looks almost new and is to small for my engines. Now its looks pretty sitting on my shelf.  :(
