It's not too far from me so I'll keep an eye on it. I'd need one of those new metal tanks to replace the flat side one, and floor boards, or maybe do a suicide clutch and jockey shift set up?
-
At least it looks to be a clean build . No lights or horn , but that can change .
Pete . :)

Yep. He did a nice job on selecting paint colors, engine covers, pinstriping and incorporating the chrome bike fenders. I'm guessing the drivetrain from the B&S is one of those light-weight chain driven clutches though, coupled into a belt driven jackshaft. Over $500 already, I'm thinking "I'm out"

If I were to do something like that , I'd find a motor a bit more unique . Maybe even electric .

Very nice collection being sold on eBay
1954. 122140639156
1954. 122140642610
1948. 122140639156
These are eBay numbers otherwise I would link them but my phone doesn't want too.

I wonder who's collection that was? Any chance those were the bikes from that ice cream shop?
-
Yes Rick they are from Scoops. Rick C.

You know these guys must know that I don't have any cash so they taunt me with these. What's even worse is thay are only three hours away. :'( :'( :'(

Not much farther away from me...almost too close. Really nice, but probably priced at near top of market? Rick C.

The 1948 is very nice, but $7500 seems over the top. It does not have the correct flywheel cover. I also believe it should have a brass fuel cap. KartJockey, do you see anything else incorrect on it.
The Blue 1954 is more than likely a 1956. They did not post the frame number, but the engine number is a 1956. Also, 1954 did not have a brake switch or use the Phelon magneto. I think that bike is priced close to market value.
Again, the Black 1954 has a 1956-1957 engine. This looks like a real nice rider quality bike. The paint doesn't look that good in the photos. There appears to be a lot of pitting on the frame and rack that was just painted over. I feel this bike is about $500-1000 over market.
At these prices I am making the assumption that all these bikes would start right up and run. If not, you would need to take that into account.

Definitely not a 48. Kickstand is in front. Should be silver decal and breather should have United Decal on it It might be they called it a 48 because of the breather and the breather is actually wrong. I don't know what is up with those handlebars but they look huge.
-
Also it is not a wide vertical bar beneath seat. There isn't a channel piece to keep intake hose from rubbing against tire. And no flywheel puller.
-
Tom, does a 1948 have a straight or curved kick starter?
-
Curved, bolt on.

Great comments on all three bikes. Just curious, based on these observations, what year do you guys think the 1948 really is? Vince
