Hi Jeff, Welcome, This is the place for answers.
I am doing the same with a 56M.
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right,
There's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

Hi Jeff!

I am running an original early '48.  There are pics of it on here but if you need any more just ask!

If those handlebars are original to the bike, it's newer than '48.

What's the story on that fire-breather parked next to the Simplex???

I was told it was a 48.where or not anything is original I can't say.It sits the way I got it.I just looked at the Numbers stamped on the Engine J7126.The other Bike is another build of mine.

This is cool.....The "J" model was only built from September '48 thru January '49.  I'll bet your's was built right at the change over period & got the new handlebars & dash plate.  It could have been registered as either year, depending on when it got sold.  The J was a short lived transition model.

Your bike is the first official "J" in our registry.  Send me a PM with your details (real name, handle, state you live in) & I'll get you added to the registry.
