Frame, Tank, Seat, Controls, Etc / Handlebar twist grip

On my handlebars the LEFT grip is the one that turns the most and the right one turns a small amount. The right one has NO slot cut into it. I just now heated and got the end to turn but I'm really confused as to how they work. Any help or pictures appreciated. Thanks--Butch

What year did Simplex move the seat spring from in FRONT of the little crossbar to the REAR of the cross bar? Mine is in front. Thanks-

Frame, Tank, Seat, Controls, Etc / gas tank rear loop

On my 1945 and also on '47 etc. There is a metal loop on the rear of the tank. I thought it was for a mount of some kind but I can't figure it out. Any ideas??

I have a 1945 Simplex and the gas tank bolts to the front of the frame and in the rear there is a loop . I understand this takes a "J" shaped hooked bolt. Anyone know where to get one or I can make it if you have a pic. Thanks

I found a pic of a 1939 Simplex and the belt drive is on the RIGHT side also the fender indent is there. Is this correct?

What is the small tab on the right rear drop out bracket for? It turns 90 degrees inward toward the brake drum.

My Simplex has the seat spring mount in FRONT of the frame cross bar. Most that I'v seen has it behind closer to the rear fender. Any ideas of year? Thanks
