it's been a long time, but I finally got a lap top for Christmas, so I hope to be dropping by more often. Hope all is well and everyone is having a merry Christmas. I will try to spend the next few days catching up on all the new projects. So far from what I have seen there are a lot of new members and a lot of new projects.

Hi all, it has been a long time since I have checked in. My wife and I have been extremely busy with the ice cream and popcorn and kettle Korn events. We will not be attending Portland this year, but hope to be there next year. I still get the simplex out with the wagon and sell popcorn during parads and special events. There are still. A lot of plans for the bike, bit not enough time. My wife has spoken with Reese wife, and they are gonna try stopping by our ice cream shop on their way this year, so that will be nice to see them. Will miss seeing the rest of you guys. Hope you all have a good time and remember to take a lot of pics.

Finally got a chance to get on here. We had the best time we've ever had at Portland this year. Only had 26 Simplexs' this year for the group photo, but it was still a lot of fun. We were able to play instead of just pop corn the whole time. It was hot, but worth the trip. it was nice meeting new people and the same crowd. The floor boards are walnut, and I would have used them, but then I found some tread plate and had it powder coated. They would look nice with a few coats of clear, and the back side routed with the same round over bit.

Still room over there, but the grumpy peddlers are all spread out, they usually try to stick together but there wasn't anywhere big ebough they could all be together. We got Brenda a Honda express so she could ride around, from one of the grumpy peddlers. I was gonna post some pics, but my phone takes photos too big for the site, so I guess I will have to wait til I get home to resize them on our computer. Having fun, heat isn't that bad when you find some shade, and not that humid today....last night was really humid when we were setting up.

We got here last noght, and I have heard a lot of ppl saying that Walmart parking lot was full on Saturday night, then Sunday morning they all started lining up at the gate. I don't know of it is true or not, but one guy told me that someone from the fair was letting ppl in if they parked clear in the back on saturday, but they had to pay him $5. I would think something is gonna have to change, sounds like ppl are pretty upset because of the early birds.

We just got to Portland and got set up. Our usual corner was already taken. Still plenty of room, but filling up fast. I don't know how early a guy would have had to be here to get our usual corner.

I was able to get the kettlekorn Express out for the cruzin Clarinda show and shine and parade event last Saturday. It was the first year for the show and shine and there was about 180 cars, tractors, trucks and motorcycles that showed up. Needless to say, I was the only Simplex in the whole bunch. If I could get you guys to travel to Iowa next year, it will be a lot more fun, lol. The last month has been a long hard and stressful month. On May 10th my father inlaw passed away from cancer and 15 hours later I got the news that my 26 year old son died from an accidental overdose. we were gonna try to go to portland and get back in time to pop corn at a huge event, but decided the we are gonna skip that and go to Portland. WWe are planning on showing up on Monday so we can look around and have some fun. We won't be setting up the kettlekorn til Thursday, so I hope everybody else is able to show up early so we can spend some time together before we set up the popcorn. Hoping to have another good turn out for the group photo.

you know Wayne has the fiberglass molds.... he had a fiberglass tank at Portland last year, not sure if he is selling any of them or not. I think Reese was also looking into having some made.

Glad to see you finally made it om the site. These guys can be a lot of help. once you figure out how to post pics, I also want to see a pic of the Triumph bobber. When I was a kid the first bike I bought was a 650 Bonneville chopper, it looked cool when I was done building it, but never got to ride it because I couldn't get running.....I was really mechanically challenged back then. Then later on I bought a 78 750 Bonneville, it was stock, and I run the wheels off of it. Good luck on your project, post pics of your progress along the way.

Here is some pics of the flywheel that was the wrong size. I removed the magnets from this one and added them to the original flywheel off of the predator 212 motor. The process was very simple, I just put the 2 flywheels together and marked the location, drilled and countersunk the holes so the bolt was buried. I also used the jb weld 2 part epoxy that dries clear and glued the magnet in place, then bolted them in like the original. There is 2 wires coming off of the charging coil....one goes to the power the lights and the other I grounded to a bolt on the flywheel housing. I forgot to take pics of the other flywheel before I put it back on and covered it up. I just used my drill press in my wood shop....like I said before very simple, and seems to be working fine. I was wondering about balancing, as there were holes drilled in the flywheel that I'm assuming were for balancing, but seems to be working ok.
