Other Things Simplex / Re: Driver in Austin
« on: February 16, 2014, 02:13:09 PM »
Thanks! If I make it out there I'll be in touch. Just a working stiff at the moment with aspirations of a few 'fun toys' in the future. Alway wanted a mini bike as a kid and now as a adult I want a decent modern pit bike like a Ruckus or a classic like Simplex. Something with "character". I considered Cushman, saw some exquisitely restored pairs at the Woodward Dream Cruise back 10 yrs ago but just like the Simplex so much more. Always have.

Introductions / Re: Texas Newbie

I'm another (Native) Texan. Being patient and just catching up on Debt (mainly trying to get the house free and clear) before I try to get a working Simplex. I'll likely just buy a finished or near-finished one if possible. At this point I'd rather ride than work on it. Too much time wrenching in the past on "projects". If you guys ever meet up I'd love to attend if possible.

Distance from Austin? Zero. Live about 1 mi. from 183/Loop 1.

Lots of angry wemin' out there when the redneck engineering gets into full swing and their AllClad cookware goes missing. :)

Not yet. At this point, with the economy in mind, I've been concentrating on the mortgage and getting that paid off before I go after those "toys" that tug at my heartstrings. :) I won't go into debt for pretty much anything anymore. The house 4 yrs ago was a exception and with luck will be free and clear in a little over a year. I still from time to time look at the used ads to see if something comes up nearby to look at as I cruise by here. 3 ice days in Austin and I'm catching up on my web cruising.

SMF and phpBB forum software (which SMF is based off of) are standard packages that most ISP/Web Hosting Companies can do. In fact the majority have the installers right in the Admin Login Section. It's a cakewalk if you want it, I know I used to work for one of those hosting companies..

I was hoping to make it but got a Summer Flu last week. Spent the weekend recuperating.

I may attend this one, even possibly take the Coach down there the day before and camp (if they have electrical hookups). Right in my backyard. Smithville's nice too so your significant other can go antiqueing or whatever else floats their boat.

Coppermine Photo Gallery can be integrated into a SMF Forum. I believe details are on one or the other respective sites.

Buy, Sell, Trade / Re: eBay & Craigslist finds

I know that Mike. On another forum I visit people post things like this all the time. We just say if there's not a picture or a link it never happened. A passive agressive way so people will make it easier to find what people are talking about without having to turn jump through hoops.

To post a link you just hit Reply. Hit Preview (so it brings up the Full Editing Window), find the 4th Icon on the 2nd Row just above the smilies (the icon looks like a little Globe) click it to insert a link.... Easy Peasy, once you've done it.

Tomorrow when I'm not so knackered I'll renumber and see how that shakes out. Thanks Bill!
