Simplexes with Non-Original Engines / Comet clutch direct drive to Simplex rear sheave???

Hi folks, just wondering if any of you have just run a belt directly from a centrifugal clutch to the rear sheave of your Simplexes? I have a HF predator 212cc and am not looking to go crazy fast, just maybe cruise around 30 to 35 mph. It's pretty hilly around my neighborhood so I'd like to keep the torque but I'm afraid the sheave might be too big to do anything BUT low end. Suggestions, ideas, personal experiences? Just not sure if I want to go the jackshaft route yet.

Hi everyone, I inherited a Simplex from my father-in-law a while back and am in the process of fixing it up for street use. I went the HF Predator route. This site has already been VERY informative. Glad I found it!

Other Things Simplex / Registering Simplex as a moped?

Hi all, I'm still in the beginning stages of a build with a HF Predator engine but am curious how some of you have gone about registering your Simplexes with non-original engines as mopeds and what, if any, things need to be added to pass inspection for street use. Thanks for any advice you have for me!
