Restoration Projects / Resurrection- NEED HELP

I purchased a rolling chassis years ago and disassembled it in hopes of restoring it. My plans took an indefinite hiatus (divorce).... and now, I think I'm ready to give this thing a go. I planned on doing a resto-mod (even went as far as ordering the kickstart and harbor freight setup from Wayne Mahaffey), and I think that's still the direction I want to go in.

I pretty much have all the parts Wayne sent me sitting in a box in storage... and it's killing me.

I'm apprehensive about trying to assemble this, but I don't want it to sit either.... does anybody know of any simplex aficionado's in the Los Angeles area that can help me get that fire back in my gut to get my bike on the road?

I plan on running Worksman wheels and a harbor freight motor with the kick start, i just need to get it going.... looking for any ideas/pointers!!!

After two plus years, I am back on the boards. I need some help, I bought a rolling project and it didn't have the two gas caps. Anybody have a lead as to where I can find something that will fit?

Wheels & Tires / rear sheave, paint or powder coat

  I received my rear sheave in the mail yesterday from Wayne. It is a repop, but it looks to be fairly good quality. My question is, should I paint or powder coat the sheave? i'm planning on powder coating the frame and wheels all black... just curious which would work best, considering the belt will be wearing on it.

Simplexes with Non-Original Engines / Brake light for predator setup

I'm going with Wayne's kit for a predator set up. Planning on using a battery tender with headlight/taillight hooked up. Running a repo Ford Model A taillight. It has two separate lights, one for running light and one as a brake light. Question is, what do I use as an activator for the brake light?

Looking for the top speed of a Simplex using a Harbor Freight predator 212cc engine using the stock rear sheave.  Also if anyone has this setup but using a Whizzer sheave.

I like the look of the simplex tires available through Summit racing.  I'm trying to check what the width was on the original tires. I found a site that sells something that looks very appropriate for a Servi Cycle. Please check the link and let me know what you think.

might be worth a shot for $50 a tire.

i am looking to swap out my original compression springs up on my front fork. does anybody have a lead on a manufacturer or model spring that is an exact or very similar replacement? i'm not sure if i wanna go with black or chrome on the springs.
