Rear wheel adjusters .

I see that kartjockey has rear wheel adjusters on his '48 .



I'm wondering if those are stock or an after improvement . I can't find them in the manuals I've seen ( Manuals section ) .

Where can they be had ?

I think that's something that's added. If you are using stock acorn nuts and stock drive belt system you don't need adjusters. You mount the fender adjust wheel to look good true up tracking lock in place. The ideler pulley or springs take up the slack. I will be adding them to frankenbike mainly for the chain drive.  ::)

They are listed in the Simplex 125 and Servicycle parts catalog that is posted in the manual section.  P/N 498. Designated as belt adjusters. Also saw a '48 deluxe in Portland with them(see Portland pics 2012) Maybe it's just all the high powered bikes that they came with!  LoL

Reese ,

You shouldn't need them on a chain drive either , if you follow your above instructions . ;)  But , they do help 'fine tune' the adjustment .

I hope I get time to work on frankenbike before Portland but its not looking good. My main item is a trailer to carry the bikes on cause if that's not ready then I can't bring them. Then I have a transmission on a tractor to swap out or no hay this year. Also one more surgery throne in just to keep me smiling.  ;D

Heck , Reese , the bikes only weight 135 each . Throw them on top of the car and go . ;)

Naw  can't do that I like to be able to use it in the next three years. If the next surgery  is the same as last Friday's surgery it should be fine.   ;)

I also snaged another project that my son wants a 78 chevy 4x4 but I get the 383 strokes for my 85 chevy that I'm  working on.

If you look at any of the old brochures you'll see the wheel adjusters.  I think they were factory standard on the early bikes.

More likely direct drive and push starts models.
