Here is my latest toy. Want to ride so I'm going to replace with a different motor as the stock wasn't very rideable even 55 years ago on my first one.
Looked for a long time for one this nice and really want to ride it a bunch but to do so on our roads, need to try to keep up with traffic.
Any suggestions for a good replacement engine? If I go to chain drive has anyone got any suggestions? Cost? Where is a good place to have the seat reupolstered?
If some one needs this motor or parts from it let me know. It looks good but the case has been repaired so I don't want to mess with it. It is very clean but I don't know a thing about it.
The numbers on the case are "K01773A".
Hey - these bikes really shrunk! When I was a kid my feet barely touched the ground and now I feel like I'm squating when I set on it.

If you want to replace the motor, check out this really clean installation I posted in this thread:

This gentleman was very nice and seemed willing to help out with info.
If I come across another motorless bike, I may build one of these in the future.
As for the seat, Heather's Leathers is were I had mine done. Very nice work and reasonable. Check in parts suppliers for contact info.

Thanks for the great link!
I have decided that the Honda Gx200 migtht be the best way to go.
Now comes the hard part..... Finding a CVT. Is the TAV2 a good one? (will it fit)?
Searching for the proper one is heck. There are hundreds but knowing the exact one that will work is a bid headache with very slow dial-up.
Any help from anyone would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a similar project going on now. I am putting a GX200 electric start clone motor into a 1949 3 wheel truck replica. I have bought a comet cvt from BMI Karting. I am running it to a driveshaft, without a jackshaft. On a 2 wheel bike, you will need a jackshaft arrangement of some sort. I saw several of these conversions at the VMBC show this year. Hopefully these pictures will help. I spoke to a guy with one of these conversions and he said he rides this thing all over the place.
