Well, for what it's worth. You guys have my permission to use my Servi-Cycle logo that I made when I created this site.

Engine & Transmission / Re: Help I broke my Flywheel:(

Two things that will seriously hurt magnets in flywheels are heat and a sharp blow. Generally the magnets can be recharged from a sharp rap, but sometimes heat will just about kill them. If Wayne will change it out that is the way to go.

Gary sold the finder tips. He made them in pewter and chrome plated brass. I spoke with Gary about a month before his death and he was telling me how he also plated the brass and then shaved the chrome off of the raised letters to give gold looking raised letters. We were discussing price on the mold for this item and he wanted $1,200.00 for it. I was definately interested but Gary said he wasn't well enough at that time and to wait a couple of months to do the deal.
Needless to say, the deal didn't happen.

Rick. You have the Simplex logo I sent you that I used for the header on this site. It took a lot of hours in PhotoShop to get that thing right. (I'm not computer handy) I know there are ppl who advertise to make water transfer logos so it might be worth while to carry a few transfers???

Tha Sunny South. Raleigh, NC. Been messing with Simplex for many years. Sold all I had back in2000 with the exception of one keeper and a barn queen. In 2005 a transportation museum wanted the keeper worse than I did. Now I have the barn queen and an older restored Simplex.

Hi Jim. I used to see you riding that Simplex many years ago. I didn't think you were ever going to restore it :)

Thats a grand looking bike you found In Alasaka. I doubt there was much of a riding season, so it should be in fairly decent shape. I would be willing to be that you are looking at the original colors on that particular bike. Lots of choices tho. So are you going to build a show bike or a rider?

No. Jim is no longer building the bike. I think Jim's big thing is that he wanted to control manufacturing from beginnin to end. Which is understandable. I too had hoped that his brother would continue to make the tanks and fenders, but when they folded up they totally shut down. They acually had a design that if Simplex had built their bikes this way would have probably run a few more years. It's too bad they weren't able to keep running for a few years. It was a much better design than Simplex

This is one of Jim Cubine's "Simplex" bike. He did a great job on the bike. Note the Worksman wheels and electric start Briggs motor. He bent all of the tubing himself and his brother made the tanks and fenders. They were great bikes, but he had so much in them that he had to ask $4,900 to make any money. It's no telling how many of these bikes have been sold as originals :)
