Nicely done . I hope they get what they are asking .
I can't figure why the transmission hanger was left to look so mundane .
And , why they couldn't afford to post a much better showing of pics .
It seems they don't even know what year it was produced ???

Yea that kinda looks funny not being painted or chromed. That and the tag says it's a 47 . I wonder if it's a scam?

The old car guy site has it as a '42 , per the url .
That's why I said they don't know what year it was produced .
It almost sounds like a hand me down situation where the elder had the bike redone and put it in the museum . He may have died and the kids ended up with some old bike they know is worth something , so they're selling it .
That's all just speculation , but ???

I sent that guy a message last year and told him if he wanted to know what year that bike really was, to send me the frame and engine numbers. I told him it was a 1953-1960 Simplex Automatic, probably a 1956 or later. That is why the listing on the Museum site now says 1953-1960. He never got back to me with any numbers.

Probably too busy , Rick .
Is he asking the same price as last year ?

Yes. Bike looks good, but that is way more than any sale I have ever heard of for an Automatic. I believe $6000 is about top dollar for an automatic in well restored condition.

You're probably pretty close with $6,000 .
Still , I hope he gets his asking price . Everything else is priced in Mars dollars these days , so why not Simplex bikes ? ;)
