New suppliers will be added as found / Resto Mod Hubs Axles and Bearings
« on: January 22, 2013, 04:56:36 PM »
Looks like they have everything needed as far as Axles, bearings, and brake hubs go. Just get a set of Worksman rim hoops and spokes and away you go.

Wheels & Tires / Rim hoop straightening ideas
« on: January 21, 2013, 01:32:01 PM »
My rear rim has a slight bend and is a bit out of round. The guy I bought it from re laced it with new spokes but the rim hoop is messed up. It was beyond truing on the stand. I have disassembled it.

One of the lips is about 1/4" lower than the other side in about a 8" section. It looks like it was maybe dropped or ran up a curb years ago.

What do you think the best way to getstraightight again before re-lacing? Do you think I could build a jig/mold out of wood and try to re-form the rim?

Thanks

Buy, Sell, Trade / Servi Cycle rim hoop WANTED
« on: January 17, 2013, 05:35:07 AM »
Hey guys, Do any of you have a rim hoop you would like to sell? I need the wider one.
It can be rusty as long as it is round.  ;)

Thanks, Matt

I was looking at some of the old Honda 100-200 CC motorcycles. Looks like the engines are pretty small. Has anyone ever used one with a 4-6 speed trans on a Servi Cycle?

Engine & Transmission / My engine parts. Are they ok to sell?
« on: January 02, 2013, 07:02:54 PM »
Ok so I have taken photos of all the engine parts that came with my cycle. Please let me know what is garbage and what I can sell.

There are a handful of small items not in the photos.

The cylinder walls are smooth. The lines can not be felt by my fingernail. There are still hatch marks from a hone in it.

The piston is scored.

The rod looks ok.

The block has crack by the mounting bolts and one in the center by where I think the main bearing is.

The carb is shot.

The flywheel may be salvageable.

The crank has some tool marks on it. It looks like something was cut off of it.

The covers are corroded but usable.

Here is a link to the folder of all the parts.

Other Things Simplex / Any value in old engine parts?
« on: January 02, 2013, 09:54:15 AM »
My bike came with an engine in a box. The crank, block, carb, and electronics are garbage. Is there any value in some of the other parts? If not I was thinking of soda blasting it and setting it on a shelf in the garage.

What Year is my Bike? / New member from MI
« on: January 01, 2013, 05:11:52 PM »
Hey guys. I just picked up a new toy. I was told it is a 56. The guy had everything blasted but just sprayed the whole thing with bed liner in a can. It looks like crap. It is missing all of the trans, clutch and drivetrain. It does have the original engine but its toast.

The number on the engine is M22232B

Where is it located on he frame?

Thanks, MATT

Here it is as purchased.
