Title: thought ild give everyone something to think about
Post by: bjm on November 10, 2020, 05:36:44 AM
a big motorcycle collector in Atlanta and a customer of mine was looking at my 1952 simplex at a car show. this guy is a serious collector. he will go to an auction and think nothing of dropping 150k on a couple bikes.well, he was staring at my 52 and finally ask, what do you think its worth. I said about 5000. he said this is the best one ive ever seen and it should bring north of 10,000 or more at any of the big auctions. so remember that when ya all using old bicycle parts and stuff. do them right and itll pay off

Not to be a Debbie downer, but I’ll believe it when I see it.  From all the sales I’ve seen, I think the very top of the market for a Simplex, not including the Trucks and maybe a very early direct drive, is $7000.  Does anyone know of a documented sale of more than that?
