I was looking at the 1957 ad on ebay today & it mentioned that the 150cc engine was available.  When did they bring out the bigger version & how can you tell which version you have?

what magazines did they usually advertise in?  I used to collect a lot of Life magazines, Popular Science, Popular Mechanix, etc., usually looking for studebaker ads & other neat project articles.  If I knew which magazines they spent their ad dollars on, I'll start snooping thru my stash.

I searched all my Popular Science and Popular Mechanics (late '40s and through the '50s) and didn't find any Simplex ads. I did see Harley and Cushmans. So not sure what Simplex advertised in yet.

Do you think there were many stand alone dealerships, or do you think most of them were also bicycle dealers (the guy I bought my bike from runs a bicycle shop that also sells an electric bicycle)?
