The first pool we had was hard to keep clean. It was damaged in a wind storm when we got it replaced a floor drain was installed, night and day difference stays much cleaner.

Now that summer is here I too am busy with outdoor activitys me and the family recently joined the Knox county sportsmens club they have 140 acres of 4-wheeler trails along with a lake for fishing that is stocked yearly. We also purchased a 35'travel trailer to set on a permanent site on the club grounds with electric and water only $300 per year, instant vacation home. Got all 4 four wheeler working good and ready for summer.  Wayne has my flywheel along with the rest of my motor . He said he would test run it before sending it back . Enjoy your summer friends , ill post some progress soon.

Haven't posted my progress on the Simplex lately because that flywheel caused me a catastrophic mental breakdown. Plus got busy at work, however I got a box and bubblewrap today , going to send it off tomorrow, with a little luck next time I see it problem will be gone. I truly thought that would be an easy fix I will be curious to know what Wayne finds.

Yeah, now I seen it interesting that tank rear fender and seat are identical to the ones I had on one of my 250 benelli sprite it was a 66 , however that is otherwise a completely different machine

Mike in one of the pics there is an orange bike next to a servicycle, I can't see much of it it looks like a benelli sprite with the California package . Do you know I had 2 years ago , but it seems to me like the forks were different then the bike pictured

Wish I could do something with that outboard flywheel but the hub is drilled for a smaller diameter crank also the whole thing is smaller . I do have a 5hp. Brings horizontal laying in the junk may look at it for ideas

After phone conversation with Larry I assembled engine. I was very pleased with how easily the bearings came out after the oven trick. I am pretty sure all the bottom end is ok back together every rolls easy until I install flywheel I painted laminates and it hits everyone I heated and removed center hub from flywheel once again put it on the crank tightened completely and spun crank holding rod post hub hobbled pretty bad can't pinpoint why. I then pulled hub back off and made a pointer with a roll of solder pointed right below treads on crank, as suggested by Larry crank ran true. Something is wrong with that hub it seems. On the bright side I now feel better about the bearings and crank

Frame, Tank, Seat, Controls, Etc / Re: Simplex factory paint jobs
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:21:57 AM »
When I went to paint my frame I had a little bit of automotive basecoat ,overcoat paint left over from my truck. It is black and I considered using it ,however there was parts missing for my paint gun. Well yesterday I gave the garage a pretty good cleaning wasn't even thinking about the paint gun. I picked up a can of laquer thinner that was nearly empty and took it around back to pour on some weeds , out rolls the missing pieces. Made me think of mikes missing handlebar pieces.

That looks like a nice truck Bill, who would have thought there would be two guys in the world owning black 59 Chevy trucks and Simplex motorcycles !  Mine was a 235 , 4 speed , longed , 3/4 ton , complete with plenty Illinois rust. Now the cab is all new lowers , the fenders, doors, and bed are new repops , and drivetrain is Chevy 350, 400 turbo, jeep quadratrac with 411s . I still haven't painted doors. Seems like I get close but never quite done LOL.
