Hi,I am new to Simplex. Back in the day I had restored a few motorcycles including a BSA Goldstar, Vincent Black Shadow (wish I'd hung on to that one) and a Norton Dominator 99. Lately I have been intrigued by the Servi-Cycle and have enjoyed following this forum. I live in the SF Bay Area. I don't own a Simplex but am keeping my eyes open.

Welcome Derek . :)
How far are you willing to go to get your Simplex ?
Have you been checking Craigslist and Ebay ? Maybe some of the bike sale sites ?
Pete . :)

I would probably travel 200 miles from the Bay Area.

Welcome Derek! I live in Southern California. Vince

Thanks, I have my eye on a '53, same year I was born. Yeah, a couple of antiques. From the picture that I have seen it seems that the color schemes and colors are all over the place. Is there a place to find a listing of the correct colors, and decals, that were offered by year?
-
No color is correct . Rather any color is correct , as the factory would paint a bike any color for an extra fee .
Original tank decals are an indicator ... some where used multiple years and some only one .
I don't think there is a listing of decals 'by the year' .

Unlike other "pickier" badges it sounds like color choice is pretty flexible.

There are some color features that were not available back then , but ...

I am guessing the Day-Glo colors wouldn't be appropriate.
-
Maybe not , but you might try one . It would be a definite conversation starter . ;)

It seems that finding parts on ebay or craigslist is pretty slim pickings. Do these things come in cycles or is Wayne the only game in town?
-
eBay is very sparse. Wayne is frequently the only choice for a lot of things.
-
I guess everyone accumulates their own stash of parts and hangs onto them.

I don't know about everyone, but that certainly describes me! Lol
