Wheels & Tires / Re: Inner tubes
« on: February 15, 2017, 08:05:03 AM »
I am not sure what I am doing wrong, I ordered another pair of tubes 26x2.25-2.50 and they are way too big (diameter) for the rims too. I got them through Amazon, they were described as bicycle tubes as did the boxes. The tires are 26x2.50. What is going on?

My email got through to them after bouncing back twice. My seat pan is on its way to them.

Has anyone contacted Heathers Leathers lately? I tried their email but it bounced back.

They were supposedly bicycle tubes. Maybe I can return them.

I did the frame, forks, muffler, seat pan, sheave and pretty much all the other black parts, the fenders, tank and headlight in red. for $275 + the cost of the red powder ( I had spec'd a special color). He has been in the trade for ten years and has just opened his own shop and I know he gave me a good price because he is a new business but we discussed prices and he is much less than others in the area.

Just got my frame and tin back from the powder coater. Wow, it looks fantastic. Great price too. He is in the SF Bay Area. I can post his info if anyone is interested.

I assumed they were bicycle tubes, bought off ebay, they look like they'd fit a 29" wheel.

hi - I just got some new Coker tires (26x2.50) and thought I'd put some new tubes in while I am at it. I bought a pair of 26x2.125-2.75 heavy duty tubes but they are way too big (diameter). What size should I be getting?

I'd like to find an MT-1D carb for my '53. Do these ever show up any more? Is there a reasonable facsimile that can also be used without looking way out of place?

Frame, Tank, Seat, Controls, Etc / Re: License plate bracket
« on: December 19, 2016, 09:07:10 AM »
Thanks guys, at least I now know that I am on the right track. Now I need to find a license plate bracket.

Make one!  If I were to make one, I would make it larger, as the holes are too close together for a modern motorcycle license plate.  What I wound up doing was punching new holes in my plate.

Good idea, I'll give it a try. Btw, what is the hole spacing on the license plates?

While we're talking about the rear fender, what are the different taillight brackets? I have the round taillight and this bracket but instead of the three holes in the fender I have two, one is 2 3/4" above the other.
