Nice finish!  The Model Y Briggs cover was the touch!

I removed all of the governors in kart motors.  Less to cause internal problems.  Then just thread the hole part way and bury a set screw in it. An 1/8" pipe plug is nice if applicable.

Bob Kerr certainly had some stories.  Taught me like an apprentice while I visited him in Oklahoma at his home. Very very thorough.  Simplex 101.  I came away a better machinist.

He called Babcock and Wilcox  ....B&W.  I think he gained a lot of machine knowledge there and then went out on his own with another employee to run their own shop.  How he got so blasted smart about equipping mills with CNC capability is beyond me.  In the attic of his shop he still had dozens of servo motors and other components.

Rick, you are right.  It's like Travis used to tell me.  They are the Double OG's  (old old guys).  And now you are the OG!

Here's is a tank that I have.  (Actually, had two of them but sold one) Gas neck measures 1 3/4" (1.758').  I found this NOS B&S gas cap.

I may have Safticycle tank decal.

Looks like same tank as a LaRay.  They mount differently than most.   uses a gas cap as  Briggs did of that same era.

That's Ernie's Sportsman.   Now owned by Mike Reed.

At the end .  All by myself.  I am a "stay until the lights go off" kind of guy.  Portland only comes once a year!

My '39 Schwinn got some new shoes this year at the show.  I found some great used AND correct tires for it.   Plus I met a new friend doing it.  His name is Hannibal and has been selling bike stuff at meets for nearly thirty years.

And here are some pics from the show.

This is the second year for this tent.   Staked down twelve different ways and does well in the weather!

It was a direct drive kind of year.   37s, 38s, 40   More coming next year!

That's the Swamp from Loozianna.  Those boys bring a strong force to be reckoned with and love Simplexes!
