This is the brochure card I have been talking about. Certainly bares the 1951 date. And looks to be an original print.

Hard to argue with a factory print!
In Gary's book, he said the non-winged decal was 1951. I wonder if the 1952 association comes from Bill Erickson and his 1952 truck?
Also in Gary's book he shows a copy of a factory ad dated January 1952 with the non winged logo on a bike.
I think I will change my opinion that the non winged logo was 1952 only, as evidence seems to show 1951-1952.

So , from 1953 on , our bikes are simply called Simplex . Not Simplex Servi-cycle .
Didn't know that until now .

Strange but both cards have the "quote, unquote" 1951 only aluminum pulley transmission. (So they look.)

Looking closer , both cards seem to have identical bikes , but for the color of the tins , the sheave and the seat . Hmmm ... ???
Even the 'sparkles' are the same .
Pete . :)
