hi everyone from Hertfordshire England. I have just picked up a servi-cycle with engine number G4673. currently restoring it. olive drab as im a ww2 nut.
-
Welcome Martin . :)
Post pics of what you have .

Welcome aboard Martin. There can't be too many of them left over there. Any idea if they imported any after the war?
-
Glad your here! Was yours a military bike originally?
-
Im not aware if any were sent over after the war,but have been told the model G was part of lend lease during the war. Mine is not a military model, was told by the gentlemen selling it that the military model had no crash bars and folding foot rests. Mine has the bars and solid footrests. But as its 1941 (this is what ive been told) I really enjoy ww2 events both in France and Holland i thought it would make a nice edition to my ford GPW jeep. I will try to upload photos soon. thanks martin

Interesting bike , Martin .
Looks to be in nice condition . Do you know any of the bikes history ?
I see a '69 Texas plate and the stands , I haven't seen before .
Can you post a better pic of the exhaust , please ?
Pete . :)
-
this is the exhaust,i think its wrong because the original one would not clear the rear stand.
-
That exhaust looks like it's from a 4 stroke motor , similar to a lawnmower or maybe something a bit bigger .
Here's a pic from the 'early manual' ( 1940 ish ) that shows the exhaust pipe and muffler :
