Im sure someone will have a photo to show, Im looking to see how it fills the space. Would you mind posting a pic of the engine compartment with the 3 hp ?

Here's a couple of pictures of my 3 HP Briggs in mine. Clearance from the top of the spark plug wire to the bottom of the horizontal frame support is about 1".
My engine model is a 80302. You can get engine specs and dimensions on smallenginesuppliers.com

Mike, I like the way you handled the brake rod issue. I have thought about a 2 piece brake rod with a bell crank under the engine as another possibility, but this would lose ground clearance.

Thanks Rick, I think I spent more time on the design and building of the brake pedal and rod getting them functional than any other component on my bike.
Question for you Rick. When you laced up your rims, did you true them up yourself or did you take them in and have someone do it for you?

Mike, I took them to a bicycle shop that specializes in high end road and mountain bikes. They charged me $30 per wheel to true them. That said, I don't think it would be that difficult to do them myself. I will have to get myself a truing stand for the next set I do.

I guess no one has a pic.. Can you guys chime in on how much vertical clearence there is from the mounting plate to the bar? I wont get My bike until the end of Aug, but I want to be on the look-out for a power supply.

Chainmaker, There was a fellow who used to sell Simplex repops and they were the exact size as the original. He installed a Briggs 5hp with no probs. I doubt you will have any probs mounting a 5hp Briggs in your bike. It has been done many times.
