Frame number is under the neck.  I am guessing the frame number is around 17500.

Will, that Dixie flyer is really nice.  I followed that build as it was going on.  The problem for me on all these bike builds, is how do you register and insure it to ride it on the road?  Here in New York, registering a Simplex is easy, but these motored bicycles are impossible, as they are strictly forbidden.

I really like the torque converter brake set up .

That is cool, but the one down side is if you break a chain, you have lost your rear brakes.

Dave, check this out.  These bikes are really well built.

I built my own from 1/4" plate.  Pictures can be seen in my 3 wheel truck tribute build thread on page 4.

Rick, the brake lever I was referring to is the one on the backing plate on the rear wheel, not the foot pedal.  They used several different types over the years.

I'll bet it originally had the toggle switch in the anchor plate & no key or stalk.

Ok Mike, I misunderstood.

What year did they change from the stalk ignition switch to the multi switch?

That's the paint that was on it when I got it.  I just buffed it out.  It is an ok paint job.  I may repaint it in the future.

I think it's original also.  I was wondering who the manufacturer was.

Tom, do you have anymore pictures of the 1937?  That bike is a piece of jewelry.

Mike, I agree.  With Simplex, there are no absolutes!

I don't know, but I would estimate that Gary had at least 500 pairs produced.  Those guys that bought them at auction thought they were going to make a fortune, but they can't give them away.  I know Wayne bought a case of them.
