Thanks for sharing. Great photos, I love anything on two wheels. A trip to North Carolina is definitely in the works. I take it that is you sitting on the Indian?

No Vince, that's not me.  That's Dale Walksler, the owner of the museum.  I asked him to start up one of the pedal crank single cylinder bikes and he said "I thought you would never ask"!  He ran the Ace inline four cylinder for me also.  That thing purred like a kitten; as smooth as a modern inline 4 cylinder sport bike.  I was there for 5 hours and he ran about a dozen different bikes in that time.  I also got a shop tour.

Rick, what is the big Harley with the MOTOgussi looking motor never knew of a bike like that , great pics would like to go.

That is a 1942 XA.  They were ordered by the military for WWII.  Only 1000 were built, as they cost a lot more than a WLA of the same vintage.  They also had a shaft drive.

Mike, I did not.  The lighting was very dim, and the engine was very greasy. I took some photos, but the numbers were not readable.  I think it was a 1956 or 57, as it had a brake light, and a wico magneto.

Great pics. Inoticed the red simplex tailpipes were cut short.Did some come this way or did someone go wild witha hacksaw?One of mine is like this.It sounds good but it blows oil all over the back wheel. Michael C
