AMCA Rhinebeck
« on: June 07, 2012, 05:00:57 PM »
Anyone going to the AMCA meet in Rhinebeck, NY tomorrow or saturday?  I'll take a bunch of pictures and post them later this weekend.

Rhinebeck was a lot of fun.  All kinds of different bikes from early american to early japanese and everything in between.  I only saw 2 simplexes beside mine.  One was a 48, pictures below, the other an automatic.

Really nice pic's.  Did yu have the opportunity to talk with the simplex owners?

Motorbikes & motorcycles have an appeal, as they take up less space than cars, but the cost of the really cool ones are just too much.....

I spoke with the owner of the Automatic.  He said he came across the site last year, but did not join.  I told him to come on over, so we shall see.  He told me he goes to Portland, so maybe we will run into him again.

There were hundreds of bikes, and probably at least 150 swap meet spots, plus vendors.  There was also a small ratrod show and tractor show going on at the same time.  I like the way the ratrods lok, but there is no way I would ride in one for more than a few miles as they are all really rough,  as in no seat cushions!  The older I get the more I like creature comforts, like heat and ac.
