I would like to see a picture of the bottom of a seat to see how the seat cover is held to the seat pan. Staples, Split Rivets, Contact Cement???
-
I don't have a photo, but I'm sure Rick has one. The seat was two pieces of leather. The bottom portion was attached with split rivits and then attached to the top by sewing the two together along the edge. I also saw one attached to the top with a very fancy leather stitching along the edge, but this was on a rebuild.

Bob is right, I have a pic. I'll post a comparison later in the week of a factory seat and a newly recovered seat by Heather's Leathers. My new seat should be here tuesday or wednesday.
-
Cool Thanks RickS and Bob. I look forward to the pics.

Here is an original seat next to my newly recovered seat. I think Heather's Leather did a great job! The stitching and rivets are just like the original, and I had them stamp the Servi-Cycle logo into the seat.

And here is one on the bike.

Thanks RickS. Those are just the pictures I needed to see. Awesome seat. Heathers Leather did a great job.

Last week I got mine back from Heathers Leather, they did a great job.

John, what color did you get? Mine is sunburst british tan. You need to figure out how to post the pictures!! It's easy!!
I sent the seat to Heather's Leather and had it back within a week. Great service!!

It was done In DOE, this is what they recommended and I am very pleased. They turned mine in 10 days also.

Can one of you post the price to recover, or send me a PM with the info? thanks, Rich

Around $200-235 with return shipping depending on leather and foam type.

I figured it wouldn't be cheap, but the seat is a big part of the overall appearance of the bike, so I guess you have to dig deep to make it right.
thanks, Rich
