Engine & Transmission / Re: Automatic Transmission
« on: February 21, 2012, 04:53:51 PM »
I got most of the bike torn apart I need to take time to make a list of the things I need for this project before I go to much farther. I am going to check the twin track clutch  in a few days, what do you think the thickness of the friction material would be if it was new?

Ithink the art work is important but the quality of the material is also just as important. Give me a Quality Tee Shirt. When are you going to start printing?

My Simplex has the twin track clutch too. I have not tried to disasemble it yet . it turns freely . Is there a need to disasemble it ? Also my Simplex does not have a stock motor, I am useing a Honda GC160 to power it. What do you think of using a jackshaft to get the power to the right side and then using the same stock twin track in the stock configuration for the rest of the drive train ?

Wheels & Tires / Re: tires
« on: February 20, 2012, 05:42:18 PM »
Thank for the reply. I do not think I am going to go 50 MPH on bicycle tires that are 15 years old. I just started on my project about 2 weeks ago , it has been in the attic of my garage for about 15 years. I started looking for tires , and Rick mention Summit , I checked there and so far that is the best place to buy them, they are made buy Corker tire.

I need to know were I can get some new tires. My Simplex has 26x2.50 tires . Corker Tires has some but I thought some one would have some more leads. The old tires a in real bad shape but maybe some on would like one for a wall hanger  it is an original .

I have to look for a diffrent motor for my Simplex the briggs that I have and was going to use is junk ( broken cam shaft ). So I am thinking of the Honda Motor may be the gc 190 or the gx 200 . Were do you find these ? What type of motorcycle , and year ?  The pic's of these motors look like they fit the bike pretty good. Bill

I have a simplex without a motor. I have a briggs  that might fit. It is nice to see that a
simplex can be up dated with a newer motor. Got some Ideals from your pc's thanks Bill Marcum
