Hey Rick great job! I have one too! Here is a pic of my English wheel...I built it about 10 years ago.[img][/img I sold a few of these back when the biker shows were the rage. Mine folds off the wall to save space.

The pickers have been there, but he did not play their game! they bought a couple of things nothing much though... and their camera man was sick that day so it was not recorded. He has been collecting since 1970!

You missed my point!!!! its not about reproduction tires!!!! its about spending money on a Simplex!!! Its about passion!! i hear guys complaining about spending a hundred bucks on a tire!!! Quit complaining!!! be thankful someone else spent the money on that project...IE Corky Coker!! you tight wad!!! i hear guys say well i can just buy a bicycle tire for 20 bucks!! or The same guy say... I am not gonna spend a hundred bucks on a carb... WTF?
be thankful this stuff is available!! I have been in the restoration buisiness my entire life!! when you restore one of these bikes you add to the value of every one of them!!!...when you cheap out because you dont have the knowledge or the patience and or you dont have a clue! Then you cheap out and convince yourself to put a jap motor or some other lame brain engine and or bicycle parts because you dont have the knowledge or know how to do it right!! thats what im talking about!! do it right or dont do it at all!!! Happy holidays!!

So who really would have stepped up and paid $4000.00 for a Simplex?? no offense guys but from what i have read on this forum for the most part only a select few!!! you dictate what these bikes are worth!! I see guys that wont spend $100.00 on a reproduction tire??? too much money!?? really?? C'mon!! or how about my bike dont run right but i won't spend $100.00 on a reproduction carb so i think i will put a $200.00 Jap engine on it??? Oh and don't let me forget this one....I can only go 30-35 mph so i will put that Jap motor on it because why?? Its not a Harley or Indian!!! It is what it is!!!! end of rant!!

In my humble opinion, I wound only powder coat something only if it had never been rusted or was perfectly smooth metal otherwise you see every imperfection because most of the time the average Joe does not have the expertise to properly metal finish the part...if everything is nice then its ok!

I have 5 fully restored Klaxon horns for sale anyone need one? They have been taken apart cleaned bead blasted bodyworked sanded primed, painted new decals! They look better than new!! Used ones on EBay that need to be restored are $125-150 to buy one...I am selling these for $225.00 ea

Hey Dave i would take the time and get it to SS Stripping in Steerling heights Mi 36870 Metro Ct. 586-268-5799 They are really fair on price but really good at what they do! he uses different media depending on what it needs to be done right...they do high end cars that end up at Barrett Jackson-just give him a call you can text him some pics and he will give you a ball park price...just FYI

Hey Rick! I have not touched it since the first week of September, I was riding it and the engine quit and would not restart so i just put it away-I think the spring broke again on the points so i am just collecting parts kind of gearing up for it! i bought a couple of parts bikes and have just been hoarding anything that i can find! I have a new box coming together gonna be really cool! but thats about it for now! I did get a story about my bike in a car mag from a car cruise that i had went to ...i will post that in another section.
