Looking for Simplex with original motor for sale. Also would like info on the average price for a stock Simplex in decent condition. I live on the west coast but would pay to ship if its not too expensive. I am new to the Simplex search.

Too bad there is not documentation available. If the story is true, the bike would be very collectible. It does look genuine though.

I almost thing the throttle control looks iffy and kind of generic. Just wondering how that would be better than a stock throttle control. Looks like some one may have added it.
My buddy's grandfather worked for simplex until they closed. He died a few years ago. He would have known about this.

Simplex did indeed use lever throttle controls on some early bikes. They also used a lever for compression release.
I have no idea why they thought a lever would be easier, but ATV's use a thumb lever instead of a rotating throttle to this day.
