Dave, in Michigan, can you register a 1953 bike and use that plate on it?  In New York, we can do that, as long as the plate year matches the bike year.

Rick yes you can register a original plate to the same year vehicle here in Michigan.

You have to fill out a form with MI SOS and photograph the original plate both sides to register it to a 53 bike.
