Well here she is her first tool out into public view. The bike formerly know 56 with a Honda gc190 will be know throughout the world as "The Wonder". Well what do y'all think?
-
That is awesome.
-
Alright Reese . :)
I think you built that intake manifold to balance the exhaust . ;)
Are you bringing it to Portland ?
Pete . :)
-
Yes she will be in the stable for sure. I don't know if it works or not maybe if there's time for finishing touches I may get to ride her. About that intake just don't look to close at it or the muffler not my best welding for sure. It kinda sounds like there going to be a lot of clean up jobs in town to be done. When are you planning to get there? ???
-
Friday afternoon .
I'm not sure if I'll be taking my bike . I'm not having any luck getting it running , even with a new Carpenter carb . :(
Pete . :)
-
Bring it Pete. Let Wayne take a gander at it, if we can figure it out!
-
I agree Pete bring it, we need the numbers.
-
I've not even road mine yet and it will be there. I hope to get it finalized there and ride it. So yes bring your bike! >:(
-
OK . I'll bring it . You guys have to have at least one bike that's worse than yours . LOL
Pete . :)
-
Looks like it will be a lot of fun to ride & I know it will bring a lot of smiles along your travels. Rick C.

Imagine yourself if you will, you spent the last three days tinkering with your bike that wouldn't stay together in Portland. Your working in 100° plus or minus the heat factor. You go for a test run until it can't get fuel and dies a mile and a half away on the backside of a hill. Good news it went over the hill with no problem. Picture is of the front side back side goes further down. Boy is it hot out here.
-
And no the road is not sideways. I don't know why it's sideways that not how I see it.
-
Sideways ... Most likely why the bike quit , Reese . ;)
I had about the same thing happen a week or so ago . But , my bike quit because the motor was starting to disintegrate . Bad lower rod bearing ...
You probably just called for a pickup . I had to push a mile or there about . It was hot here , too .
Pete . :)
-
Pd it's hard to call for a pickup when you have the keys to the pickup. So yea I push it all the way home. :'(
-
Jeanette isn't allowed a set of keys ? ;)
I had three hills similar to what you pictured in my push back home . I hopped on an rode the down hill parts . The uphill parts kinda sucked . LOL
Pete . :)

Well she redeemed herself. I got rehydrated and cooled down I put some more fuel in the bike and she started up. So I went on my first night ride and boy that light is dim. I do say she doesn't mind the hills around here she climbs them like a champ. Now it's time to find a better headlamp bulb. Any hopeful prospects out there? ???
-
Reese ,
What voltage and wattage are you working with from that motor ?
I'm guessing that you fixed the loose exhaust ?
Pete . :)
-
Yes I got it all back together and tighten the piss out of it and added a screw in the bracket holding it under the foot board to keep it steady. It sounds really nice.
-
The screw holding the exhaust and the turnbuckle holding pulleys at the proper distance apart.
-
Good that's all you had to do to the exhaust .
Pete . :)
-
That and put new bolts on rrrr56 he upper flange. Whre I thought one of the bolt hole was stripped out but it was fine. I do need to talk with Wayne about his kicker. The kicker is starting to bend down I guess.
-
Boy I need to stop posting things after dark. I have no clue why those random letters got there or what happened there at the end. Must of doze off there.
-
If you'd quit getting up at 3:30 AM ...LOL
Pete . :)
-
My kicker arm started to bend inward slightly, so I welded a gusset along the length of it to strengthen it.
-
That's what I'm thinking about maybe a harden steel angle piece.
-
I just used 2 pcs of 3/16" mild steel as gussets along the edges from my footpeg downward (as seen in pic)
-
I am glad you got it all together.
The bulb was the only one I could find in a 12V that would fit the socket. Its likely just a side marker bulb. I had no intentions of driving at night but wanted to try to be somewhat legal to ride around town.
If you look through all that stuff I gave you, there is a bag of red fabric covered wire. You should use it for the headlamp.
I wish I didn't lose interest in this bike. But, I used the funds to buy a fishing boat and have used it 100 times more than I rode the bike.
-
Yea it's getting to be a lot of fun on the rides I've made. The new headlight is working great, now I need to find a proper tail light and I will be set. I guess the next time I'm up that way you can take me fishing. Ha Ha. Hey how do you like the new clutch set-up?

The clutch is top notch. it looks more correct than the full comet clutch.
Don't forget there is a new brake switch in the stuff that came with the bike.
-
Yea that's what I have got in line to do next is brake light and wiring. That and getting a rack mounted. Hope to see you at Portland someday.
