New owner of a simplex and new to the group. I am trying to determine what year my bike is and where do I find that information on the bike and the serial number on the motor as well. I appreciate any help you can offer. Including where to find manuals and parts.

Welcome Choo . :)
The frame # is under the neck support and motor # should be on the left side bottom , unless you have a early model .
Look through the home page for manuals and Wayne's contact info .

Thanks I think it is a 1958

Post some pictures! If it is anywhere near a 1958, the engine number will be on the bottom of the engine case and will start with an M. Frame numbers started around 1950, and are found under the steering neck. Before that, there were no frame numbers.

Here is my 1956. New to all of this and looking forward to restoring and learning about my bike.

Take a look under the bike right opposite of the choke plate. It will be stamped in the metal. Then post it along with your engine number. From there it will narrow you down to a year. Pictures always help to validate the numbers by showing what is accustomed to be seen around the serial number time line.

Great looking bike! That Wizard looks like a really easy restoration, as it looks almost complete! I think the Wizard was only built in 1955 for Western Auto, but we will need the frame and engine number to be sure.
I'm not even sure I would restore that bike, maybe more of a mechanical restoration and just clean the rest of it up.
I just noticed what looks like a single track clutch, which was discontinued sometime in 1955, and replace by the double track. Take a better picture of the clutch so we can see for sure.

I wondered about that clutch last night , Rick . I think you may be right about single track .
And , it definitely is in nice enough shape to simply be cleaned up . Patina has so much more character ...
