It won’t effect anything to remove arm and ignore the rest? This bike is for wife so all i am really after is dependability. Not even hiding or disguising the engine.

I figured out a bracket. To remove the governor, just take the arm off and leave everything else alone?

Simplexes with Non-Original Engines / Twist throttle to gs190

I have the gs190 mounted in my aftermarket frame. I have made it to hooking up the carb. Anyone figured out an easy way to hook up a twist throttle to this engine? Would you use the governor or go straight to carb?

Frame, Tank, Seat, Controls, Etc / Rear stand?
« on: September 03, 2022, 07:31:21 AM »
I have the repo frame with workman wheels. The simplex kickstand is very different and will not work. Is there a rear stand that fits simplex? The kind that clips to the fender when raised.

The internet is telling me the gc engine is alum bore with plastic cam and bushings on the crank, gs is steel bore with plastic cam and bearing on one end of crank, and gx is steel bore with steel cam, rebuildable carb and bearings on crank made to run all day long.  ???

HF motor will not fit. This frame needs an upright motor. I have a very nice old briggs but it is only 3.5 hp.  I heard the frame is set up and drilled when produced for a 5hp briggs. Some of those upright hondas might work too. Gs162 ? I’m not sure of the number, but saw some at portland. I read the honda gs series is a cheaply made disposable engine?

Wheels & Tires / Re: Worksman wheel axle
« on: June 28, 2022, 06:41:16 AM »
I got it apart 20 minutes ago. I gritted my teeth and hit it hard! It made a cracking noise and came apart. I guess the bearing was just stuck. The axle is not straight. It has a bigger dia in the middle, forcing the bearing to come out with the axle instead of a simple spacer inside.

Thanks for the video Rick. I will watch it too.

Does the electric start advertised for the honda engines fit the hf too?

There are no retaining clips or rings. I smacked it a few more times, but it didn’t move. Does anyone know what is inside that wheel? I want to hit it harder but,,,

Sounds like i will probly do the hf engine.  I have a new one on the shelf. I like the looks of the gx190 in the pics, but my wife gets this and I don’t need to put extreme effort into it. Dependable and easy starting is the goal. I want electric start for her too.

Wheels & Tires / Worksman wheel axle
« on: June 26, 2022, 03:55:06 PM »
I need a longer axle in the front of a worksman wheel. The forks need to be wider to give room for the brake to be fastened. I beat on the axle with a dead blow hammer, but it did not budge. How does that sucker come out?
