Title: 1949 Simplex Servi Cycle For Sale
Post by: WillH on April 11, 2014, 06:51:06 AM
I believe this is a '49. Mostly complete except engine; very restorable; tank needs cleaning, no rust out; rims solid, one extra front wheel; good frame and fork; original parts to the bike;  a good project bike. $950.00.  Location, central Texas

After reviewing the Simplex model year differences; looks like the year is "Jan '45 thru Sep. '47" rather than 1949.

I think it may be a pre-'48.  I think 1948 is when they introduced the pivot style transmission mounts & got rid of the adjuster tubes on the transmission mount uprights.....but I'm going from memory....which is dangerous.

I think Mike is on the right track as 1949 introduced the flate plate handlebar mount.  The kickstand also moved to under the left floorboard for the 1949 model k.

I would trust you'all better for the correct year as I am not knowledgeable on the changes. I was guessing with the aid of the time line on the forum. Thanks..........
