Seems to be lots of Simplex parts on ebay right now.  roller chasis, transmissions (check out the one that has a sproket added to the clutch pulley), a partial motor, 2 inch rims, etc.

Has anyone seen the simplex on ebay number 320979286341. Its stated as a 1939 custom with a running what He calls a reo engine. Looks complete but no lighting seen.

Almost have to call this a piece of "Americana"!  That is a REO engine (Ihave one)but must be a much later frame considering it  the clutch and  seat spring it has.  Looks like something that was set up back in the late '50s when the REOs were around and maybe the original engine didn't run anymore.  Whatever the case you have to love that hand clutch!  By the way, the REO has a unique valve arrangement in that it uses one cam lobe to operate both valves while still functioning as a 4 cycle engine.

Oil-lamp. I ended up buying that one on Ebay. I don't know much about it or Simplex's, that's why I joined this site. It currently isn't running, as the pull starter is broken.

An Italian company "Parilla" had a high cam motor that used one cam lobe for both the in and ex valve. It has a very cool timing cover, in my opinion.
High rate of slow speed going no where real fast.

Care to elaborate how this applies to a simplex?

I'm going to put this here "Found on Ebay" # 221253240359 a 1952 un-restored bike. Buy it now price is a little high but if one of our northern brothers gets it I would be able to pack it north for you if its before the meet in Portland.  8)

That bike is not a 1952, but is a 1953 or later automatic. I emailed the seller and asked for the frame and engine numbers.  It has the later type headlight switch, so I think it is more likely a 1955 or later.  It also has the straight side handlebar mounting plate. It also is missing the correct throttle assembly. I think the price might be a little high for the condition.

I see it has what seems to be a Mikuni carb . The tail light is not original to the bike .
The forks seem like they may have been bent and straightened .

55 or later , I think , too . When did the brake switch get put above the frame tube ?
Goes around , Comes around . :)
