Post by: Mike Sal on March 04, 2012, 08:20:47 PM
There's a '47 for sale on Walnecks site right now.  Got lots of custom parts (the seat rails are a sight) & asking $5800.

I have a simplex seat here with the added metal as this bike has.

Bob, that added metal must be some sort of back support.  I'll tell you what, I'll never ride my simplex far enough to need more back support!

Rick did New York make you add any safety equipment such as brakelights?

They did not require anything to be added, but then again, they never saw it.  I just had to supply a photo of the engine number.  I don't think you have to add anything that wasn't required when it was manufactured, but I did read where all motorcycles are required to have 1 rear view mirror and a brake light.

On a side note, I'm taking the 53 to the AMCA national meet in Rhinebeck, NY on June 9th.

Do you think the extra seat metal was some dress up kit sold by the aftermarket, or something Simplex actually offered as an option?
