Instead of storing the bike in storage stall for winter, I once again parked it indoors. I thougt about doing do a couple things to it over the winter. On the list is the possibility of converting the headlight over to 12V with internal wiring, polishing or nickel plating the trim ring, tapping the valve cover breather tube into intake manifold, etc.
Unfortunately, my cat has figured out the new seat fits his little butt very nicely and likes to sit on it and/or nap. Since they tend to be belligerent and rarely do what ever it is you ask of them, I figured first things first to protect my new seat from his very sharp little claws. If you can't beat'em, at least try to outsmart 'em. Forums pretty slow so here's a couple pics of solution. Now I don't need to worry about it while it's in here at least. Wish he could at least hand me tools while I work on it.

looks like you outwitted the little guy!

He has an amazing sense of balance. I've seen him casually walk the seat spring up onto the handlebar, over the headlight and walk the front fender to jump to the ground, all without the bike moving an inch.
