A question for those of you with later model bikes.....how long is the wire used to activate the switch? From photos it looks to be 5 or 6 inches long, but thought I'd ask so I can mimic what everyone else has.

Mike ,
I have that wire here , somewhere . But , of course , I can't seem to find it . :(
Seems I recall it not being as long as 5 - 6 inches . Seems closer to about 3 inches .

The one on my 57 I believe was original...it was 5 inches from hole to hole, it was made of brass I believe it could not be reused it was brittle and broke...I made the new one out of stainless safety wire here is a pic of the old one

The windings on relics wire look OEM ( same as my wire ) . But , I don't think mine is brass and it seemingly is not as long . That could well be due to CRS syndrome . ;) I still haven't found that dang wire . :(

My 55 doesn't have a brake light switch, nor do I see where one would mount. Was this an add on? Or did some models just get brake lights and some didn't?

I would think a '55 would have a brake light and switch .
You can see where my '57 brake switch mounts .
That tab has about a 1/2" hole to accept the switch .
