That’s the first time I remember reading about a clutch engagement speed, 1200 rpm.

I don't recall that 'spec' , either .

Hmm , my clutch seems to engage sooner than 1200 RPMs .
Maybe I need stiffer springs . Mine are original .

This article speaks of production numbers in the market place but still none specifically about Simplex.  My quest continues!
