Board track racers - anyone have one?
« on: March 22, 2014, 07:54:48 AM »
I really like the look of this bike and want to put one together.   I would rather have a cruiser version with U shaped handlebars like the bikes pictured below it.  Anyone on this forum build one?  Dave

That is cool, but the one down side is if you break a chain, you have lost your rear brakes.

IMHO, this is the best of the best. If it weren't for the Simplex I would have built one myself.

Honda GC engine, Worksman wheels, old Husky bike frame, modified.

Will, that Dixie flyer is really nice.  I followed that build as it was going on.  The problem for me on all these bike builds, is how do you register and insure it to ride it on the road?  Here in New York, registering a Simplex is easy, but these motored bicycles are impossible, as they are strictly forbidden.

They aren't much for the road any way; mostly for display and an occasional ride at a show. That was the main thing that steered me to the Simplex.

I'm hoping registering my bike is as easy as you said. I have been instructed (by the title dept in my county) to bring a bill of sale and a picture. They have the reputation to be as cranky as possible on vehicles without titles, so we'll see.
