Title: Front axle nut specs?
Post by: GaryF on October 19, 2013, 04:02:13 PM
Hello, Can anyone give me the measurements for the front axle nuts, wrench size & turned down round diameter and thickness that fits into the fork. I need to turn a few up on the lathe. I believe the threads are 26TPI. Thanks, Gary

Front and rear are the same.  Early style was just an open nut turned down to .525" to a depth of  .170".  The later style were acorn nuts, with the same step.  Wrench size is 3/4" on both.

Yes, they are  7/16-26 BSC.

BTW, Wayne has reproductions available, if you want chrome acorn nuts.
