Title: M motor on ebay
Post by: Mike Sal on April 04, 2014, 07:14:50 PM
No one interested in the late model motor on ebay?  Looks to be a good deal (compared to what you'd have to pay for having one rebuilt these days.  It's a 56 or later (hole drilled for the phelon magneto wires).  Only 15 hours to go.

Without the magneto and flywheel , I am not sure that is such a great deal.  What did this rebuild entail?  From the pictures posted, it looks like it could have just been cleaned up on the outside and hit with a quick rattle can paint job.  I sent him a message asking for more info, but I didn't get a response.  To me, that is a red flag.  At $500, I would be willing to take a chance, but not at $1000.

That was pretty much my thought . I wished the seller the best of luck as I quickly exited the page .
Even if he installed new bearings and piston/rings after boring the cylinder , it's still way more than I'd even think about paying . But, then I like $.15 / gallon gasoline , too . ;)
